DUA FOR GUIDANCE AND STRENGTH

Dua for guidance and strength

Finding Faith in Difficult Times

Life gives us trials, choices and moments of weakness. Yet through every difficulty, Allah's presence remains constant - never far, never absent.

Indeed, there is ease with hardship. Most certainly, there is ease with hardship.

[Surah Ash-Sharh 94:5–6]

In times of  adversity, Prophet Muhammad (saw) would turn to Allah through dua and draw strength, patience and peace from his relationship with the Most Merciful.

And whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience.”

[Sahih Bukhari 1469, Sahih Muslim 1053a]

The Prophet (saw) taught us this dua to seek guidance and firmness [in Imaan].

The Dua

Ali (ra) reported that the Prophet (saw) said to him:

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي

Allahumma ihdini wa saddidni

O Allah, direct me to the right path and make me adhere to the straight path.
[Sahih Muslim 2725]

Whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to the straight path.
